Secretary of Guizhou provincial Party committee Zhao Kezhi meets with CICCC Lei Mingqiu and Long Yu

      Standing Committee member of the National People’s Congress, Deputy Director Member of the Ethnic Affairs Committee, concurrently the Vice Chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Mr. Lei Mingqiu, Executive Chairman and Party Secretary of CICCC, concurrently the Chairman of China Charity Project Committee Mr. Long Yuxiang led a delegation of philanthropic entrepreneurs and their donation to distressed areas in Guizhou Province. The secretary of provincial Party Committee Zhao Kezhi met with the delegation at the International Conference Center in Guizhou Hotel. He expressed heartfelt thanks and sincere praise for CICCC’s solicitude and support on education in ethnic regions and old revolutionary base area in Guizhou.

      Zhao Kezhi extended a warm welcome to Lei Mingqiu, Long Yuxiang and the delegation, saying education is a national project and it connects closely with people’s livelihood. “Today we see a relatively secured status quo due to economic development; technical advancement might ensure the near future for us; nevertheless only education development would effectively guarantee our long term interest. Led by the Party Central Committee and State Council, supported by various circles of the society, Guizhou invented and insists on the principle that “education advancement goes before economic development; to rejuvenate the education before rejuvenate the province”. In recent year, the education in Guizhou has been effectively promoted. However there is still a huge gap between educational development of Guizhou and that of other provinces. Education is still a bottleneck for Guizhou’s development. We will rise to the challenges with consciousness and confidence. We will optimize the distribution of educational resources; enhance the promotion and education of the educators, by so doing push forward the education advancement of Guizhou. We planned to reach the national average level of education by year 2020.” Zhao also suggested “the province is now carrying out strategic plan initiated by the No. 2 state documents and resolution made by the 11^th Provincial Congress of Party member delegates, adhering to the principle of scientific development, striving for excellence, making sure we reach the national average level by 2020. He hoped that the Ethnic Affairs Committee of National People’s Congress would go on to support and care for the unity as well as advancement of Guizhou, accelerating the unity of different ethnic minorities and prosperity of the society. He also hoped that the CICCC and China Charity Project Committee would continue to support and help the international communication, education and health development of Guizhou.

        Lei Mingqiu congratulated Guizhou on its economic and social achievements. He said, “In recent years, under the leadership of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Guizhou People’s government, Guizhou has achieved great successes. Its social and economic physiognomy has improved dramatically, showing an exciting tendency. He added that CICCC and China Charity Project Committee will go on to give solicitude for education in the old revolutionary base areas, ethnic minority regions and distressed areas, will raise funds, supporting education as did before. Member of China Charity Project Committee have for many times go deep into basic level, investigating the educational status quo at backward areas. More than 600 charity schools have been built up across more than 30 distressed provincial units all over the country with the funds raised by the CICCC and China Charity Project Committee. CICCC and CCPC have been playing a positive and active role in the education promotion and in harmonious society building. Lei suggested that CICCC and CCPC will continue to support Guizhou. He believed that under the leadership of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, Guizhou will successfully reach its goal by 2020.
