China International Cultural Communication Center, China Charity Project Committee donate 11 million

       A ceremony for a donation of 11 million yuan made by China International Cultural Communication Center along with China Charity Project Committee was held at the International Conference Center of Guizhou Hotel, the donation aims to improve the educational facilities and conditions at some distressed areas in the host province.

      Standing Committee member of the National People’s Congress, Deputy Director member of the Ethnic Affairs Committee, concurrently the Vice Chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Mr. Lei Mingqiu, Executive Chairman and Party Secretary of CICCC, concurrently the Chairman of China Charity Project Committee Mr. Long Yuxiang made their special trip to the ceremonial event, bringing a massage that they hope students study hard and will someday reciprocate the society with their actions after education.

       Lei Mingqiu addressed the ceremony, saying that “education is a foundation stone of a nation; it concerns the prosperity and future of the nation. CICCC and China Charity Project Committee will make long-term support to public welfare undertakings. Financed by us, more than 600 charity schools have been built up across more than 30 provinces and municipalities alike. The CICCC has played a very positive and active role in facilitating the cause of education all over the nation. On this trip, we visited with our sincere hearts old revolutionary base area, ethnic minority regions, and distressed areas, investigating the field of education, raising funds from philanthropic entrepreneurs and individuals. The donation will hopefully improve the educational environment and facilities of old revolutionary base area, ethnic minority regions, and distressed areas, boast the cause of education in these areas. By so doing we hope to give an impetus to the whole society at large for more attention and action to help educational development in these areas.

      Long Yuxiang also delivered a speech at the event. He said that to aid the poor and to relieve the needed have been considered as part of the traditional moral excellence. CICCC has all along taken on as an unshirkable duty to improve and enhance the facilities in schools in economically, socially as well as culturally backward areas. In order to effectively carry out this duty, CICCC has been practicing the so-called “three one cent” principle. Long hopes governments at various levels would attach further importance to distribution and usage of the donation to make sure the fund are wisely and legally applied to the needed.

      Vice Governor of Guizhou Xie Qingshen made his speech at the ceremony, claiming that the education development in the province needed not only the attention and action of the governments, but also the support of various circles of the society.  The 11 million yuan they received show greatly CICCC and China Charity Project Committee’s solicitude for educational development, as well as the social responsibility of advancing just in education shouldered by the two. It is a huge support to education advancement in Guizhou. Deputy Director of Provincial Education Commission, Associate head of the Provincial Education Department Hu Jiankang suggested that the Education Commission and Education Department would take full responsibility to oversee the employment of the donation to make sure it is used accordingly, wisely and effectively.

      Deputy Director of the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Tang Shili hosted the ceremony. Deputy Director of the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Zhang Qunshan, Secretary-general of Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Liu Yimin and Head of the Communication Department of CICCC Xiao Ping also attended the event.

      Companied by Deputy Director of the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Tang Shili, on 10^th and 11^th Oct., Vice Chairman of CICCC Lei Mingqiu, Executive Chairman Long Yuxiang made an on-the-spot investigation to Libo County Water conservancy Primary School in Qiannan Area, hearing report from local education departments, communicating with students and teachers, also making suggestions on the future employment of the donation to the receivers.
