Committee member of CCPC to attend Hunan Qidong charity primary school opening ceremony

      It was sunny with spring breeze on 6th April. A delegation consisting of leaders like the former head of the General Administration of Press and Publication and concurrent standing committee member of the Political Consultative Conference Long Xinmin, Party group secretary and concurrent executive chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC) and concurrent chairman of China Charity Project Committee (CCPC) Long Yuxiang, along with philanthropic entrepreneurs went to Shuangqiao Township at Qidong, Hunan Province, for the opening ceremony of the new school building at Gulan primary school.

      Gulan primary school was founded in 1952, large numbers of quality talents received their education here. The new building was constructed upon its old base, and was donated by CICCC, CCPC, Hunan Huizhong Investment & Properties Limited, Guangdong Longwei Group and others. The new project consist of 320 square meter teachers’ dorms, 60 meters well-maintained slope, 1000 square meter sports ground, maintenance and reconstruction of 1200 square meter classroom building, 60 meter enclosing wall, totally made up the cost of 1.20 million yuan. Apart from this, books worth 200 thousand yuan, 29 teaching computers, 25 set computer chairs and tables, one multimedia device, 180 set student table and chair, 10 dining table, and many teaching furniture worth of 500 thousand yuan in total were donated to the school.

      The former head of the General Administration of Press and Publication and concurrent standing committee member of the Political Consultative Conference Long Xinmin, Party group secretary and concurrent executive chairman of CICCC and concurrent chairman of CCPC Long Yuxiang unveiled the signboard of the Gulan primary school. Long Xinmin addressed the opening ceremony, saying that “the whole staff of the school should satisfy the people with education by every possible means. The quality of teaching should be enhanced, and the service offered to the people should be further promoted. It is a school’s duty to train and educate more talents helpful in social development. I wish students study well and make progress every day and become pillars of the state and service the people of your hometown. Long Yuxiang said at the ceremony that “I wish all of you remember the good deeds of those philanthropic people. I hope you love our nation, love the people, love your hometown.” Long added later that “the county of Qidong boasts a long history, splendid humanity tradition and cultural heritage. There are green hills and clear waters as well as unsophisticated traditional customs well preserved here. There has been great progress in development over these years. The CCPC will continue follow the development of educational situation with interest. We will mobilize more philanthropic forces to facilitate the development of education in poverty-stricken area.”

      The opening ceremony was hosted by the standing committee member of the County Party and concurrently head of the Propaganda Department of the county Zhou Yanchun, associated head of the county Zhou Yuejun addressed the event, standing committee member of the county party and director of the general office Luo Renyuan and many other related personages attended function.
