CICCC Jinan Liaison Office opened up in Jinan

CICCC Jinan Liaison Office opening ceremony held at Shandong Mansion on 4th January, 2014. 

Reported by Zhou Nan: The Opening Ceremony of China International Cultural Communication Center’s Jinan Liaison Office was held at Shandong Mansion on 4th January, 2014. CICCC’s first vice-chairman Tang Tianbiao, vice-chairmen including Lei Mingqiu, Hu Yanlin, Sha Zukang, Party committee secretary and concurrent executive chairman Long Yuxiang, member of the Shandong provincial Party standing committee and concurrent head of the United Front Work Department Yan Shiyuan, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress Song Yuanfang, vice-chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference Li Jia, deputy director of Jinan Military Command Political Department Lu Minsong attended the ceremony.

CICCC Party committee secretary and concurrent executive chairman Long Yuxiang addressed the event, saying Shandong was the birthplace of Chinese ancient civilization. The sacred place of Chinese national culture, the land of ceremony and propriety, Shandong took advantage of its image and unique position to promote Chinese traditional cultural development, to enhance cohesiveness of the nation, to maintain national unity. It had made unparalleled achievements. He pointed out that the Jinan Liaison Office ought to take concerted action with the provincial Party committee, the provincial government, the Jinan Military Command, the Provincial Military Region as well with deepened cultural awareness in doing cultural communicating work well and in raising Shandong’s soft power in a sturdy manner. The office was expected to make full use of CICCC’s rich resources in international cultural exchanges to enrich the accomplishment of Confucian culture, the Yellow River culture, the Mt Tai culture, red culture and coastal culture, to build a cultural band with Shandong characteristics, to push Shandong’s culture onto a world stage and to raise its strength and competitiveness in the face of international competition.

On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the government, member of the Shandong provincial Party standing committee and concurrent head of the United Front Work Department Yan Shiyuan congratulated on the opening up of the new office. He said, CICCC was an important window for China to communicate with the rest of the world. The center has made considerable contributions to the promotion of international cultural exchanges, the enhancement of friendship between peoples of different nations, the maintenance of world peace and stability, a situation of common prosperity, the cause of international cultural communication, the economic development, cultural advancement and social harmony. Shandong remained a cultural advance province and was forging ahead with the plan of building a cultural strong region. The provincial Party committee and the government have been attaching great importance to cultural industrious development. The establishment of the CICCC’s Jinan Liaison Office would be remarkably beneficial to the implementation of the spirit of the 18th Party Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, to the promotion of Shandong’s cultural communication with the outside world, to the building of a culturally strong province, to the development of Shandong’s culture, to the wellbeing of the people and the army and to the great goal of a win-win situation. It was an important event to Shandong’s cultural development, to the enhancement of Shandong’s cultural strength and competitiveness as well as to the building of an economically and socially strong region in all aspects.

East China Liaison Office director Ji Shaoying delivered a speech on behalf of all liaison offices of CICCC. Ji extended warm congratulations on the opening up of Jinan office. He expressed his wish that Jinan office would take full advantage of CICCC’s rich cultural exchange resources, cooperate closely with other offices to inject renewed vitality to the host province’s cultural development as new contributions. The newly appointed director of Jinan Liaison Office Zhang Bingde stressed at his address that the office would take up discovering, displaying and promoting Shandong’s culture as its major task, strive to actively bridge the province and the world. The office would be in full cooperative relationship with the local Party committee, governments and armies to push forward cultural communication works, to promote Shandong’s culture to go onto a world stage and to build the province a cultural advanced state.

Leadership from CICCC headquarters and Liaison offices including Cao Yumin, Li Xuewen, Gu Shoucheng, Cai Duowen, Yang Xinhong, Li Xue’an Wang Xiaohua, Xiao Ping, deputy director of Jinan Military Command Political Department Wu Jufeng, deputy mayor of the host city Wang Xinwen, leaders from the provincial Party committee, the local governments, the military command, the armed forces and representatives from literary and art circles, the press, financial and business circles were present at the function.
