Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiu meets with Long Yuxiang and Shang Zukang

      CICCC Executive chairman Long Yuxiang and Vice-chairman Sha Zukang went to Shanghai on a tour of investigation 20th, August, 2013. Mayor of the host city Yang Xiu and other officials met with the delegation at the Municipal Government Hall. The two sides had an in-depth discussion over the constructing of a green industrial system and developing green new strategic industry.

     Yang extended a very warm welcome to Long Yuxiang and Sha Zukang, saying that Shanghai was at the critical moment of its transition to an innovation-oriented economy. The municipal government must firmly and unshakably pursue the quality of economic development as the central task, keep adjusting the structure of production, move forward the reform and opening up to the outside world, follow the path of sustainable development, struggle to meet the requirements raised by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. We would take full advantage of the policies of Four Central Points and the opening up of the China Shanghai Free Trade Zone. We would work hard to be the pacemaker of the nation’s reform and open up to the outside world and the forerunner of scientific development, setting a model of the whole nation in terms of economic growth with Chinese characteristics. Yang hoped that the China International Cultural Communication would continue to pay attention and support to Shanghai’s economic growth and development.

     Sha Zukang congratulated the municipal government on the achievements made in rapid economic growth. He said that Shanghai had enjoyed an increasing international popularity since its hosting of the last World Expo. International recognition and understanding of the city would surely play a positive role in moving forward its economic constructing and development. The city ought to seize the opportunities to carry out the idea, principle and ultimate goal of green development to the process of decision making, social management, environmental protection and other planning, give impetus to new green strategic industry, construct green industrial system step by step, lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the economy of the city and make new contribution to the constructing of a harmonious socialist society.
