Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition to Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the PLA Opens in Beijing

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the PLA, the Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, hosted by China International Cultural Communication Center and sponsored by JDB Group, is to be opened in the Natioanl Palace of Culture on June 20th.
The painting and calligraphy exhibition has collected more than 350 masterpieces from nearly 200 Generals and contemporary famous painters and calligraphers. With deep feeling and respect for the people’s army, these works of art, adhering to the profound traditional skills of Chinese painting and calligraphy, display the glorious history and brilliant achievements of the people’s army and eulogize the great spirit of the army.
Senior advisor of CICCC Tang Tianbiao attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He said that Chinese Communist Party created and have led the army through 90 years of glorious journey. Today, we use the art form of Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy to show the passed eventful 90 years, to carry forward the theme of the times and to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture. Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, we will make unremitting efforts to achieve Chinese dream and the dream of a strong army.
Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Executive Chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Long Yuxiang said in his speech that hope this painting and calligraphy exhibition could provide spiritual and cultural strength for the realization of Chinese dream and the dream of a strong army. Moreover, it's a tribute to the 90th anniversary of the PLA and also a tribute to the coming 19th National Congress of the CPC. Meanwhile, hope to introduce China’s traditional art with great beauty and oriental features to the world, so that the world will learn more about China and promote excellent Chinese culture to the world.
Party Secretary of China Artists Association Xu Li said in his speech, the Exhibition dig out the unique ideological value and aesthetic connotation contained in military art, which is a concentrated display of the prosperity and development of socialist literature and art, and helps to enhance national cultural confidence and facilitate the birth of fine arts with main melody.
Party Secretary of JDB Group Pang Zhenguo said that JDB Group has always concerned the responsibility of national defense, will continue to carry forward the glorious tradition of support the army and give preferential treatment to the families of the army man and martyrs, consolidate and develop the relations between the army and the people, and contribute to achieving Chinese dream and the dream of a strong army. Deputy secretary-general of China National Veterans Foundation Wang Hong, the famous painter Zhang Qingzhi and artist Zhang Tiecheng delivered speech respectively, all expressing great pleasure to participate this thematic and public beneficial Exhibition.
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the PLA, Beijing Gongmei Group presented a memorial “treasure for army” to the Red Army soldier and displayed the armed swords.
Attendees at the painting and calligraphy exhibition include: General Tang Tianbiao, Yuan Shoufang, Lei Mingqiu, Hou Shusen, Fu Tinggui, Zhang Shibo; Lieutenant General Liu Jixian, Ren Haiquan, Xu Genchu, Li Dongheng, Liu Shimin, Li Yunzhi, Tao Fanggui, Leng Kuan, Wang Zhaohai, Rui Qingkai; Major General Qian Lihua, Dai Qingmin, Zhang Wenzhong, Zhang Shuanghu, Zhang Tianrong, Ma Guochao, Yang Yuling, Xie Moqian, Zhang Zongyin, Li Xuewen, Zhu Zhengping, Ji Shaoying, Liu Xin, Wang Dongfa, Qiao Taiyang, Sun Jian, Sheng Hetai, Yang Xinhong, Zhang Zhiguo; leaders of the central state organs Wu Hailong, Li Zhijun and Zhou Youma; and Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information Eric, Chairman of Malaysia International Economic Exchange Association Liu Shixian, Chinese consul general in Ho Chi Minh City Chen Dehai, and Philippines overseas Chinese Shi Naikang.
The exhibition will last from June 21st to July 4th.
