To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China and the PLA’s station in Hong Kong and also the 90th anniversary of the PLA, CICCC visited and saluted the PLA troops in Hong Kong on July 20th.
In the activities of celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China and the PLA’s station in Hong Kong, President Xi Jinping inspected the troops based in Hong Kong, which fully demonstrated the good image of our mighty and civilized army. Since its arrival in Hong Kong on July 1st, 1997, the troops stationed in Hong Kong have been shouldering the sacred mission of safeguarding national sovereignty, unification, territorial integrity and the security of Hong Kong. All the officers and soldiers always keep in mind the trust of the Party and the people, vigorously carrying forward the fine tradition of our army, that is listen to the command of the Party, serve the people and be brave and skillful in battle. They consciously abide by firm political beliefs, moral purity and loyalty to mission. Efforts have been made to promote the overall construction of the armed forces, to complete the tasks with defense at the center and to strive to provide a strong and secure guarantee for the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
Executive Chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Long Yuxiang in his speech extended cordial greetings to the officers and men of the armed forces, and spoke highly of the troops stationed in Hong Kong as an honorable army with a special mission and a heavy responsibility. Long Yuxiang said that as an important window for China’s foreign cultural exchanges, CICCC has always taken responsibility for building a socialist cultural power and inheriting and spreading Chinese culture. This visit pays homage to the officers and soldiers stationed in Hong Kong, and meanwhile means to learn from the troops to promote the work of CICCC. Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, CICCC would further strengthen the military cultural exchanges, support the cultural development of troops, enrich soldiers’ cultural life and make unremitting efforts to promote the country’s cultural soft power and build a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.
The commander of the PLA garrison in Hong Kong TanBenhong said in his speech that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China and the PLA’s station in Hong Kong, President Xi Jinping listened to the work report of the garrison and fully affirmed the overall construction of the garrison. The achievements made in the construction of the garrison in Hong Kong are inseparable from the support and assistance of the people of the whole country. On behalf of the officers and soldiers in Hong Kong, Tan Benhong expressed his gratitude to CICCC, and Yue Shixin, the political commissar of the garrison in Hong Kong, presented a thank-you plaque to CICCC.
During the event, board chairman of the Weijun Investment Funds Lin Qingqu and the JDB Group presented cultural equipment and gifts; the Sino-foreign Enamel Gallery presented the cloisonné vase a symbol of richness and prosperity; the Beijing Craftsmen and Classical Culture Development Company presented the art work “Army Treasure”; and the well-known painters Han Bisheng, Zhao Dawu, Sun Haoming, Zhou Zhihui, Aixin Jueluo Hengyan, Deng Shaosheng, Lu Yixin, Chen Yuefeng and Guan Liang presented carefully crafted works to the garrison in Hong Kong. Artists include Wulan Tuya, Zhu Jun, Yu Jia, Li Haoxuan and Zou Zhigang, the Beijing Soul Inspiring Art Troupe and Beijing Baihui Performance School performed wonderful programs for the officers and soldiers.
Special commissioner of the Hong Kong Liaison Office CICCC Cai Ye and the assistant to the board chairman of the JDB Group Li Xiaoying attended the activities.
